The Keg in Burnaby

sn8515832The other night, my friends and I hit up the new Keg Steakhouse and Bar in Burnaby.  It was a great opportunity for me to get started with my new blog and get a new post up about one of my favorite restaurants in the city.   To be honest, I kind of hoped the service would be bad so I could tear them apart and raise a stink online to get a rise out of some people, but low and behold it turned out to be  a great night.  It was a Saturday night, so there was a little bit of a wait at the door (we had a large group), but the food and the service was absolutely top notch.

The Keg is in the same location as it’s always been, but the old restaurant was closed, and a brand new modern new age restaurant took it’s place.   It is located just off of Highway 1 at exit 32.  You simply take Willingdon Av. North and you can’t miss it.

The Keg Steakhouse and Bar was started in North Vancouver in 1971 and has since grown to more than 90 locations across North America.   They serve great steaks, pride themselves on their service and of course provide a comfortable setting.  It wasn’t just the food that got me however, as they have a funky open bar/lounge area that is conveniently located away from the quieter dining area.  Obviously the lounge was a better choice for a hooligan like me (espesh with a big group).   It’s nice to know that there is a quieter secion as well.   It’s a good mix as you can combine a high energy lounge area with a quieter more formal area for families and business.  I would certainly be happy to recommend it to anyone.  For more information on The Keg, check out their website.
